Description:
• The Sr. Sourcing Manager is responsible for strategically managing all aspects of (Cost, Quality and Delivery) assigned supply base and product groups, determined by annual spend, business impact, customer impact and overall critical factor for the success of the supply chain.
• The Sr. Sourcing Manager leads a cross-functional strategic sourcing team of professionals to select best-in-class or world class suppliers, including direct reporting responsibility of Productivity Engineers, Quality Engineers and Sourcing Managers.
Responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing plans to drive Supplier productivity gains, DPO, lead-time, in-bound service level improvement and supplier quality goals for assigned product groups.
• Implementing and managing the Newell Rubbermaid Supplier Performance Scorecard process for identified strategic suppliers within the assigned product groups, working with the Supplier Quality organization supporting the PIC Buyer/Planners according to published and agreed to roles and responsibilities.
• Driving supplier consolidation and consolidated leveraging opportunities.
• Being knowledgeable on commercial issues associated with all existing and new suppliers within assigned product group.
• Supporting new product development process.
• Emulating and driving Newell Rubbermaid's Purchasing operating Culture and vision for Integrity, Attitude, Leadership, Teamwork and Results.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors/University degree in Purchasing, Operations, Supply Chain Management or related Business degree required; Engineering discipline a plus.
• 7+ years purchasing, sourcing, buying, manufacturing, retail buying or operations experience required.
• Ability to meet travel requirements (approved 20-40% required).
• Understand the drivers of financial performance and manage them.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Proven record of maximizing cost saving, quality and delivery metrics while driving continuous improvements through strategic sourcing.
• Conflict Management/Resolution experience.
• Negotiating Skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
• Ability to document detailed process and functional specifications as required.
• Proven successful track record on cross-functional team projects, including leading teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to build a business case for proposed solution.
• Strong strategic skills with ability and vision to map out "to be" business processes.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and foster collaborative relationships.
• Experience to International sourcing.
• SAP APO experience is desirable, particularly with PPDS, SNP and/or CIF configuration and maintenance. - No longer sure this is applicable
• Thorough understanding of MRP concepts, and various optimization techniques for PP.
• CPIM certification/training is desirable.
Preferred Technical Experience and other Requirements:
• Experience implementing SAP R3 and/or mySAP ERP, a plus.
• Experience with ASAP methodology and SAP Solution Manager, a plus - No longer sure this is applicable.
• Consumer Products Industry Experience.
• Textile/Components experience is preferred.
