Description:
Drive supplier development initiatives, including supplier performance management, supplier certification, process improvements, cost reduction, supplier forums, lean integration, audits, selection, SCAPA, SPPAP, and e-procurement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and prepare Supply Agreements between Stryker and key Suppliers.
• Coordinate negotiations with multi-site suppliers.
• Ensure suppliers meet project requirements related to price, product technology, capability, capacity, logistics and Quality Assurance.
• Perform external quality assurance audits on new and existing suppliers, as part of an audit team.
• Work with new and existing suppliers to ensure quality system improvements.
• Issue corrective action requests to suppliers and work with suppliers to ensure effective closure.
• Work with plant procurement teams to improve overall global supplier performance.
• Drive supplier development initiatives.
• Drive improvement in the procurement process.
• Reduce procurement costs.
• Drive supplier performance management process.
• Participate in annual supplier forums.
• Direct and oversee the work of team specialists.
• Develop team budget and manage team expenses.
Qualifications/Work Experience:
• Must have strong negotiation skills, a working knowledge of Purchasing “best practices” and product manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of procurement strategy and market drivers.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• 2+ years auditing experience in medical device or other regulated industry a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment with progressive levels of leadership responsibility; prefer experience in medical device and/or regulatory industry.
• Specific experience in the areas of quality, supplier development, procurement, materials management, and planning.
• Demonstrated ability implementing lean production tools.
• Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated ability to understand systems, gather data and perform research.
Education and/or Special Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management.
