Food Safety Intern-Supply Chain

Description:

• Sara Lee North America is looking to add a Quality & Food Safety Intern, to its Supply Chain team for the summer of 2010.
• The intern will work out of the Sara Lee Corporate Office located in Downer's Grove, Illinois.
• The selected intern will enter nutrition information for ingredients and finished goods into the Genesis Nutrition Database software, and/or work on getting updated Supplier Ingredient Request Form (SIRF) documents for the meat regulatory department.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage data through input electronically, filling, and/or scanning documentation coming from Suppliers & Co-packers.
• Contact Suppliers in an attempt to gain required documentation
Enter information from vendor's completed SIRF's into Product Vision (PV) for review.
• Scan final documents from ingredient vendors into PV.
• Contact ingredient vendors for additional information at the request of the Labeling Specialists.
• Archive formulas and file of completed label copies and SIRF documents.


Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in food science or nutrition (Junior or Senior).
• Detail oriented, organized, and have a general knowledge of nutrition/food ingredients/chemistry.
• GPA of at least 3.0
• Prior experience with meeting deadlines.
