Decription:

• Essential Functions and Duties Develop consistent processes for and lead multifunctional commodity group working towards reducing inherent cost.
• Shortening engineering development cycle.
• and improving product manufacurability and needs.
• Maintain costs through contracting and other organizational methods.
• Develops and maintain world class supplier base capable of providing Lam the quality, delivery, cost, lead times, minimal inventory levels and continuity of supply that will enable Lam to win in an increasingly competitive environment.
• Assure that suppliers have the capacity to meet our current and future needs as well as ongoing upside capacity to satisfy unplanned demands.
• Assess existing and planned business volumes with current suppliers and rebalance business volumes as required to increase suppliers ability to improve their performance and meet our aggressive goals.
• Lead multifunction commodity strategy teams on their assigned commodities, assuring the participation and commitment of all the other functional team members.
• Develop 2-3 year commodity strategies to assure that Lam is positioned to take advantage of the latest materials, OEM products, technology and manufacturing techniques.
• Facilitate the smooth transition and hand-off between new products and production and procurement.
• Position the materials procurement function to be one of the major contributors to increasing gross margins.


Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

• BA/BS in related field of discipline or equivalent.
• APICS, CPIM/CPM Certification preferred.

Minimum Experience:

• 8 + Years applicable experience.
• Knowledge of products and marketplace.
• Global commodity industry and marketplace knowledge.
• with business, quality and technical expertise.
