Description:

• Manages the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements.
• Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Insures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives.
• Insures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions.
• Monitors the building of relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives.
• Oversees the integration of learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.


Specific Job Description:

• Candidate will be required to manage more than one functional area in Material, such as materiel planning and control, material handling, stores management, and distribution.
• Additionally, the candidate will be required to direct the performance of a variety of cross-functional administrative and analytical tasks to ensure coordination of material is properly recorded, material procurement plans and schedules are submitted and accurate, expediting flow of material, and development and securing of supplier requirement data.
• Candidate will manage the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between points of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements.
• Candidate will supervise employees who use a variety of equipment such as forklifts, hand carts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse.
• Additional supervisory roles include employees who maintain records and check invoices/bills of lading.
• A successful candidate will oversee the processing, packaging, and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment, to determine the appropriate containers and wrapping methods for materials to be shipped or stored; to include expertise in international shipping and export compliance.
• Candidate will be expected to manage interaction with internal customers and outside suppliers regarding procurement planning, material flow, problem resolution, and process improvement.
• Candidate will ensure the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions.
• Candidate will be expected to monitor maintenance inputs to inventory system and direct the immediate action of out-of-stock situations.
• Coordinates with engineers, shippers, carton manufacturers, and carpenters for special crating and packing requirements.
• Responsibilities include; coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary determination, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
