2nd Shift Operations Supervisor

Education Level: High School Diploma/GED (+11 years)


Description:

• Utilizes machinery, materials and manpower available to complete the daily production schedule.
• All established quality standards will be met as well as creating and maintaining a safe work environment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper setup of machinery and timely startup of production.
• Ensure product specifications, quality standards and USDA standards are followed.
• Maintain line speed and crewing standards.
• Monitor machines and employee practices to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Closely monitor product for quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Schedule product flow to maximize efficient use of available materials and labor hours.
• Train and observe employees to ensure accuracy in the following areas:
– Time and attendance.
– Yield reporting.
– Inventory transactions.

• Train employees in the production process.
• Ensure Good Manufacturing Processes are being adhered to.
• Utilize machine and materials in proper FIFO rotations.
• Maintain current goals for schedule attainment and daily efficiencies.
• Monitor machine maintenance to minimize machine downtime.
• Utilize lean manufacturing concepts/tools to develop a culture of continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

• HS diploma or equivalent with Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Two+ years of front line supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts/tools preferred.
• Solid verbal and writing skills with strong time management capability.
• Must be computer literate.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish) a plus.
• Must be willing to work 1st or 2nd shift.
