Description:
• The Marketing group develops and executes SolarWorld’s North and South American marketing strategy and directs product management.
• This includes market and competitive analysis, lead generation, brand promotion, and sales support.
• Product management manages SolarWorld’s existing product line including new product development.
Responsibilities:
The Marketing Analyst Internship will be responsible for the following activities:
• Provide market analysis of the North American and South American Solar markets by identifying and analyzing public, secondary market data, and internal volume data.
• Perform competitive analysis and create competitive landscape including market share, segment analysis, and pricing comparision.
• Develop financial models for new and existing products and businesses.
• Conduct market assessment and financial feasibility studies on potential new products and services or entry in to new geographic markets.
• Track, analyze, and report on financial returns for various marketing efforts to maximize payoff of marketing spend.
• Develop and report on various key performance metrics of SolarWorld businesses.
• Create and distribute sales and market reports including executive dashboards.
• Perform various market research activities by analyzing competitive products, speaking with customers, and identifying and acquiring key market reports.
• Participate in the develop of product and segment marketing strategies by providing market research, data analysis, and assisting with the preparation of the strategy proposal.
• Maintain market intelligence database.
• Participate in marketing budget preparations.
Qualifications:
The following knowledge and experience is preferred to successfully complete this internship:
• 2nd year MBA student with degree in Marketing, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience gathering, summarizing, and analyzing sales and financial data for identifying opportunities to further optimize the business and product performance.
• Ability to perform analysis and prepare forecasts and recommendations in the areas of product preferences, sales coverage, marketing size, penetration, marketing practices and sales trends.
• Strong analytical skills using data manipulation, extrapolation, statistical and trend analysis required.
• Ability to create and understand financial proformas.
• Results oriented and goal focused.
• Experience in MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to synthesize data required.
