Description:
• Candidates must be dynamic self starters who work collaboratively, are results oriented and driven by continuous improvement and learning.
• Responsibilities include developing and executing commercial strategies and regional sourcing solutions associated with Marathon's upstream spend for goods and services, managing customer and supplier relations, preparing proposals based on value generation, analyzing and preparing commercial business cases, negotiating with suppliers and the administration of transactions.
• The chosen individual will collaborate with the World Wide Drilling and Completions Organization (WWD&C), Contract Management Services, Strategic Sourcing and other Global Procurement (GP)organizations.
Responsibilities:
• Optimize spend for goods and services based on the delivery of value to the organization.
• Collaborate with WWD&C to develop and execute spend strategies based on technical requirements, HES compliance, market intelligence and commercial opportunities.
• Effectively communicate with clients, suppliers and GP teams relying on strong interpersonal and writing skills.
• Manage customer and supplier relations and expectations to maximize value creation.
• Evaluate and negotiate commercial arrangements and resolve issues arising from commercial activities.
• Maintain focus on continuous improvement, continuous learning and application of new technology.
• Responsible to keep GP Supply Chain Management abreast on direction of projects and to ensure collaboration with team members.
• Experience with cross functional teams, as well as established familiarity with the contract management, project management, negotiation, and economic analysis process.
• Develop aggressive work goals that are strategic in nature.
• Must be a dynamic self starter who works collaboratively, is results oriented, and driven by continuous improvement and learning.
• Have a solid understanding of E procurement and SAP MM.
Qualifications:
Degree:
• Bachelors Required.
Major:
• Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance or Engineering.
Computer Proficiencies:
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
• SAP MM experience is a plus.
Certifications:
• A C.P.M. or APICS certification or the desire to pursue such is a plus.
Work Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years experience.
• A procurement/technical background in operations, drilling and completions, ability to negotiate commercial agreements, as well as familiarity with contracts and commercial terms, ability to draft solid contractual agreements, project management and economic analysis is required.
• Offshore/Gulf of Mexico procurement and technical experience required.
• Experience in category management and/or vendor management preferred.
• Preference for local candidates.
