Standard Job Description:

• Manages the planning, preparation, issuance, and control of production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
• Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.


Specific Job Description:

• Responsible for managing the Production Planning and Control (PP&C) functions for Missiles and Fire Control Tactical Missiles mission area programs.
• The job scope includes the management of multiple programs and approximately 14 PP&C employees.
• Candidate must possess Full Spectrum Leadership qualities and an ability to work in a fast paced, customer focused environment is essential.
• Related experience in material handling, production control systems, and MRP/SAP systems is a must.
• Understanding of MMAS (Materials Management Accounting System -DFARS252.242-7004)and DPAS (Defense Prioritization and Allocation System - Reg.15 CFR 700).
• Demonstrated experience in multiple functional area processes including but not limited to Manufacturing, financial budgets/proposals/internal operating plans, quality, and scheduling(Master Schedules, MRP schedules, change scheduling) associated with PP&C responsibilities.
• Prior experience in planning, preparation, issuance and control of production schedules. Working knowledge of procurement process from loading of bill of material through the scheduling and release of purchase requests and preparation of shortage lists ads well as epiditing of critical materials.
• Insure program materials ordering strategy is in place to meet program and procurement needs while keeping other factors in mind such as shelf life and storage limitations.
• Demonstrated leadership ability including selection, training, performance assessment, work delegation, discipline actions and recognition of employees.
• Ability to assign projects to organizational unit by leading team of managers and/or staff to meet critical schedules, resolve complex and time sensitive technical or operational issues.
• Develops and administers budget, schedule and performance standards.
• Must be able to strategically support and report to executive level management.
• Ownership of centers performance is critical. Includes ability to strategically position PP&C organization for future operations utilizing capital planning and capacity resource planning.


Desired Skills:

• Black Belt, Masters Degree, Educational background in Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
• Experience leading diverse multi-functional teams, Knowledge of industry wide best practices and processes for managing material schedule production.
• MRP systems utilizing latest technology and processes.
• Integration of new systems and processes in to an operational organization.
• Prior experience leading a team of supervisor, managers, and/or leads.


Required Skills:

• Production Planning/Control Skills, Commitment to people development, Leadership Skills/Experience, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement program, Green Belt Trained/Certified, APICs training, Full Spectrum Leadership qualities, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Excellent Communication Skills.
• Ability to work with multiple levels of management, industry peers, and internal and external customers.
• Strategic thinker with a long-term focus.
• Experience leading teams which include members from multiple functional disciplines as well as multiple manufacturing sites.


Typical Minimums:

Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
