• The Logistics Marine Manager develops and deploys commercial logistics strategies for highly leveraging and complex commodity agreements for North America businesses.
• This position is accountable for processes related to:
– Commercial negotiation and economic analysis for services and assets related to logistics, i.e., international and domestic transportation, storage, handling, quantity/quality control and transportation equipment.
– The implementation of the optimal logistics product to market network aligned with the enterprise business strategies and objectives.
• Additionally, this position is accountable for processes, personnel, and optimization related to the logistic operations required to move product to markets through liquid terminals, barges, and vessels.
Accountabilities include:
• Develops strategic sourcing by mode aligned with business strategy.
• Directs negotiation and acquisition of Logistics and Asset services in international and North American marine transportation, non-proprietary liquid terminal storage, rail equipment and maintenance, warehouse and packaging services, and third party logistics services.
• Works with Logistics Commercial and the Business to ensure lowest cost-to-serve is utilized.
• Directs economic and performance analysis of service providers.
• Directs analysis and recommends determination of optimal product to market network for and across the enterprise business units.
• Develops market contracts, maintains strategic business relationships and builds a thorough knowledge base in the logistics industry.
• Manages all aspects of logistics transportation for rail, truck (bulk and package goods), vessel and barge.
• Manages operational requirements and relationship with Logistics Service Providers.
• Drive standardization and automation thru the delivery planning process to meet organizational productivity improvement goals.
• Advanced competencies in results orientation, analytical thinking, technical expertise, and conceptual thinking.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop professional workforce.
• Ability to interface and communicate with a broad range of business and functional groups to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
• Capable of prioritizing and managing large, complex, detail oriented workload.
Qualifications:
• The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business or related degree with a minimum of 10 years professional experience in logistics, commercial or related discipline.
• Masters degree or equivalent professional experience in logistics or commercial management preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop professional workforce.
• Ability to interface and communicate with a broad range of business and functional groups to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
• Capable of prioritizing and managing large, complex, detail oriented workload.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop professional workforce.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident).
