Description:
• Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory process.
• Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
• Purchases, plans, and coordinates resulting material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
• In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
• Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, approves payment, and maintains necessary records of material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycle(s).
• Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
Specific Job Description:
• The Material Procurement Analyst will be part of the Supply Chain Management group supporting the procurement functions for the San Antonio Health Logistics Services team.
• This team will be responsible for overseeing the material functions associated with expediting, sourcing, requisitioning, receiving and tracking.
• Responsibilities will include analysis of equipment requirements and pricing, vendor negotiation, and managing the planning and procurement processes throughout the requirement.
• The candidate will work with existing procurement systems to generate material requisitions and will also write reports and briefs, work with outside vendors and manage relationships.
• Responsible for expediting material and communicating status to the respective teams, enter receipts and track any pertinent data relative to completing the material transaction process.
Typical Minimums:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience.
• 1 year of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
Required Skills:
• Prior material requisition and procurement experience preferably in a service center setting. Familiarity with Global Supply Chain Management procurement tools like SAP and use of Purchase Cards.
• Experience with the development of Bill of Material (BOM).
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and manage expectations with internal and external client groups and vendors.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with comfort in creating reports and presentations.
Desired Skills:
• Procurement knowledge is desirable as is proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Detail oriented and excellent analytical skills.
