• The Global Physical Logistics Executive will maintain accountability for all centrally-managed physical logistics operations, contracts and development programs Energy Sector.
• This individual will also be responsible for physical logistics requirements, implementing Global Physical Logistics policies and managing retained physical logistics operations within the Sector as well as maintaining global accountability for co-coordinating physical logistics activities across the Sector, either in terms of operational standards and performance or in terms of planning and implementing developments.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
• Driving existing Rolls-Royce physical logistics operations globally for the Sector, whether internally staffed or contracted to a Logistics Partner, to optimised service level performance, operational efficiency and cost.
• This requires full understanding of the service level requirements of the Rolls-Royce businesses and Customers, and of external standards and benchmarks for physical logistics operations.
• Reporting performance (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Responsiveness & Relationships) to local senior management and to the GPL global hub against an agreed set of standard metrics/reports.
• This requires a full picture of all Rolls-Royce physical logistics operations within region, characterised in terms of, for example, 3PL vs internal, contract logistics vs freight management, and so on, and agreement with the hub on how to measure their performance and cost in ways that can realistically be compared with other regions.
• Contributing to defining and implementing such standard metrics and reports and improvements that will increase operational effectiveness and service, both in-region, and, by sharing best practice, elsewhere in the global network.
• Participating in contractual discussions aimed at maintaining, improving or changing third-party logistics relationships as required, including participating in the Investments and Services Purchasing Global Council when appropriate.
Qualifications and experience:
Basic:
• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business.
• 7+ years of logistics experience in a leadership role.
Preferred:
• Master's of Business Administration.
• Six Sigma certification and demonstrated leadership in Lean programs.
• Demonstratable good knowledge of physical logistics processes, principles, driving factors and contractual/operational models.
• Proven experience and track record of managing physical logistics operations or development in a relevant business sector in-region.
• People management and leadership skills, particularly in a matrix organisation structure and in the area of indirect influence and engagement rather than direct command and control.
• Demonstratable team working skills and previous experience in project transportation and US Export Control.
• Experience in an SAP environment.
