Description:
The Commodity Buyer - Indirect Products and Services is responsible for the sourcing and needs of assigned sub-commodities for all TS locations in the Americas.
Responsibilities:
Meets/exceeds AOP/STRAP performance objectives for assigned commodities/sub-commodities by:
• Working with suppliers to reduce year over year costs.
• Developing and executing comprehensive sourcing strategies.
• Optimizing supplier base size.
• Driving compliance to corporate agreements.
• Drives system automation and compliance.
• Supports operating, distribution, and office staffs to reduce consumption of energy and other variable expenses.
• Negotiating short-term and long-term agreements, including pricing, quality, lead-time, mode of shipment and payment terms.
• Owns Data Integrity in ERP system (EBP, SAP, iBuy, or other system) and in One Source for assigned commodities.
• Builds deep Industry and commodity subject matter expertise.
• Monitors and reports performance of suppliers and related industry macroeconomic trends to peers and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Supply Base, Operations, Finance is required.
• 3 years of purchasing/ diverse supply chain experience.
• MRO purchasing experience a plus.
Additional Qualifications:
• Multi-site responsibility experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to lead/teach training programs within supply base and user community.
• Knowledge of MRP and ERP purchasing systems is preferred.
• APICS and/or ISM certifications preferred.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate concisely and act in a multicultural and cross-functional environment at all levels inside and outside the company.
• Tough, sound negotiator.

• Team builder, motivator and team player.
• Strategic thinker; uses creative and innovative problem solving approach.
