Description:

• The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the execution of sales and marketing programs in conjunction with distributor activities to achieve brand, volume, programs, distribution, pricing, and other related sales activity goals of the wines portfolio in regional chains not covered by PRUSA National Accounts.
• The position ensures that distributor efforts/programs are aligned around brand targets.
• Position has responsibility for training distributor sales personnel and select retail accounts on the Company's wines portfolio.
• This position will serve as a primary source of Pernod Ricard wine and champagne expertise within each Division, as well as the main point of contact for wine-only distributors, divisions of distributors, and large retailers.
• The position will be required to coordinate with wine personnel and Champagne Ambassadors in the organization of wine-related events.
• Responsible for implementing approved programming with key on- and off-premise accounts within the designated geographical area, focusing on regional chain activity.
• Incumbent maintains and analyzes market data on distributor performance and prepares reports for senior management.
• Ensures accurate and timely communication of changing field conditions that affect volumes and competitive activity to management, while managing all economic budgets that may be assigned on behalf of the company.


Scope:

• Position typically works with Division Manager Wine Portfolio, distributors, brokers, and key on and off-premise trade accounts.
• Communication can include sensitive information, requiring confidentiality and discretion in dealings with contacts.
• Incumbent plans activities for this position weekly, monthly, yearly with individual initiative in daily routine.
• Decisions impact the departmental leadership and organization as a whole, and errors may cause significant expense to the entire organization.
• Outcomes of sales efforts affect the growth and profitability of the wine portfolio, which directly impacts company profitability.


Key Competencies:


Education:

• Bachelors Degree preferred; additional training in MS Office necessary.


Experience / Background:

• Position requires minimum 3 years of previous sales management experience in fine wines and/or distributor management.
• Experience managing a multi branded portfolio, imported and domestic wines on a state level, in national/regional chains required.
• Multi-state experience a plus.
• On-premise experience a plus.

• A successful individual will demonstrate excellent verbal, written communication and computer skills, possess strong analytical skills, as well as outstanding aptitude for time management and program execution.
• Thoroughness, interpersonal awareness and influencing skills, as well as proficiencies in problem-solving and customer service are key competencies for success.


Working Conditions:

• Extensive travel throughout the Division will be required for this position.
• Minimum required travel time is 3 days / week.
