Description:

• Oversees the development and management of projects that ensure Genzyme's regulatory compliance in shipping cold chain and controlled room temperature products, WIP and raw materials.
• Ensures product temperatures are maintained in transport as well as to meet evolving country regulatory requirements for cGDP packaging and transportation.


Responsibilities Include:

• Ensuring all partners/suppliers meet minimum standards, specifications as agreed in quality technical agreements;
• Creation of global standards for packaging, transport and distribution.
• Specific projects include implementing a global data management system for temperature monitor data and the development and implementation of route design/route qualification program.
• Accountable for adherence to timeline and resolution of obstacles in executing the projects.
• Develops and administers budgets, schedules and performance measurements for projects.
• Interacts with all manufacturing sites, distribution centers and country logistics managers.
• Coordinates project goals and activities with the Product Security and Integrity team.
• Lead the development, approval, and execution of cold chain shipping solutions to support world wide shipping and distribution of Biotech products through collaboration with QA, Compliance, and Validation personnel.
• Manages Project Scope, Design, Risks and Change Control processing.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams internal (site and corporate) and external (consultants and suppliers).
• Develops and administers project plan, including objectives, budgets (costs) , schedules, resource requirements and performance measurements.
• Initiate and maintain overall project documentation.
• Manages and coordinates meetings associated with the project focus, and any correlating meeting requirements.
• Serve as technical expert for all aspects of cold chain packaging and shipping.
• Assess temperature protection requirements for materials and products and work cross-functionally to implement solutions.
• This would include managing the relationship with Cold Chain suppliers and inventory of materials at the distribution centers.
• Provide support for shipping validation activities.
• Drive Cold Chain Operational Excellence initiatives and lead implementation of enhanced processes and solutions.
• Assist in the resolution of in transit temperature discrepancies.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Provide valuable information related to the project status in a timely and effective manner.
• Act as Project Manager and technical expert in cross-functional Cold Chain Operational Governance team.
• Remain on forefront of emerging cold chain distribution industry practices.
• Contribute to Business Process re-design activities where required, exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to the assignment.
• Participate in other distribution or logistics projects as assigned
• Interact with internal sources such as Regulatory, QA, Validation, Site Distribution, Finished Goods Distribution, Customer Service, Country Logistics, and Supply Chain.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, Advanced degree preferred.
• 10 years Project Management experience in a corporate environment.
• Minimum 2 years experience leading a barcode implementation project or other complex project involving hardware and software implementation.
• Technical knowledge of data matrix and RFID capabilities.


Preferred Experience:

• Formal Project Management education/, PMP certification highly desirable.
• Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously in a multi site, global environment.
• Strong organization, time management and decision-making skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills, ability to work naturally/well in a team environment and across functional areas.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and conduct regular management reviews and provide updates to the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Visio and Excel.
