Description:
• Provides advice and counsel to management and client organizations.
• Conducts special studies and analysis, develops alternatives, presents recommendations to management and influences management decisions.
• Researches, analyzes, develops and implements new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions.
• Direct supervisory responsibility of planning/forecasting team.
Responsibilities of this position include the following:
• Identify, develop, source, negotiate, and manage long term preferred business relationships.
• Analyze requirements, develop material forecast and planning strategies and plans, business, commercial, and technical requirements to support critical business needs.
• Research vendors, products, and lead times to optimize material availability while minimizing inventory levels.
• Develop and manage Logistics polices and practices.
• Forecast future needs based on trends.
• Develop and manage the Logistics department's performance reporting and management information systems.
• Develop process driven practices and improvements ensuring evaluation of entire process from acquisition to disposal.
• Lead cross functional teams to develop and execute operational recommendations for strategic critical materials and services.
• Ensure client satisfaction with assigned supply chain/ procurement activities.
• Develop and implement process changes to improve client satisfaction and reduce cost and manage risk.
• Develop and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers.
• Provide problem resolution sessions with internal customers and suppliers.
• Communicate concepts, data and recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
Requirements for this position include the following:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Economics or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of seven years experience in supply chain management.
• Understanding of outsourcing strategies, related issues and solutions.
• Excellent organizational, negotiation and communications skills.
• Knowledge of electric utility structure, policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, responsibility, and the ability to assign appropriate priorities to competing work requests to maximize client satisfaction, reduce cost and management risk.
• Advanced human relations skills in understanding and influencing others to achieve critical objectives and affecting change.
• Demonstrated expertise in applying theoretical and involved practices and techniques that support and enhance existing Procurement strategies.
• Ability to identify needs, develop, source, and negotiate preferred business relationships.
• Ability to deal with and manage conflict resolution.
• Advanced ability to identify process improvement opportunities along with implementing improvements leading to efficiency gains and standardization.
Preferences:
• Advanced Degree.
• Certified Supply Chain Manager.
• Experience in developing vendor relations.
• Working knowledge of supply chain system technology (ie: SAP and/or, Oracle).
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, Access, Visual Basic.
