Description:

• The purpose of this job is to identify and implement, through project work, supply chain improvements to a single business, multiple businesses or an envelope.
• The scope of project activities will be regional.
• Project activities will focus on supply chain design within new markets and re-design/optimization of existing supply chains.
• The overall objective is to maximize business value growth, economic profit, cash flow and customer service through improvements in supply chain costs, capital investment, asset utilization, productivity and quality.
• Candidates will be located directly in a Base Plastics Supply Chain (SC) Operations Improvement group.


Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Identify, assess, and optimize the material flow and risk trade-offs across the supply chain at a tactical or strategic level (inventory, purchasing costs, production costs, logistics costs, product quality, asset utilization, productivity and customer service).
• Optimize or design supply chain infrastructures (distribution networks, plant locations, outsourcing).
• Perform Supply Chain Operation Benchmarking analysis to understand service level and cost structure.
• Participate on supply chain strategy development, including customer/product mix analysis, customer/product segmentation, channels-to-market, capital investment, asset strategy, and sourcing decisions.
• Act as an emerging or knowledgeable contact in the areas of capital project management:
– Validate Project Economics using Technology Implementation for Competitive Advantage (TICA) Cash Flow Model, define Net Present Value (NPV) and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF).
– Support Global Project Methodology (GPM) process and documentation needs.
– Provide input into SC Operations Capital Plan.

• Optimize or lead the development of supply chain work processes, business rules, and establish metrics in the areas of forecasting/demand planning, production planning, inventory management, order fulfillment and the S&OP process.
• Apply Supply Chain most effective technology (MET) for both bulk and packaged modes and leverage best practices on SC operations projects.
• Validate all technologies that are implemented meet DOW Loss Prevention Principles (LPP) and EHS guidelines requirements.
• Support the design and optimization of supply chains through the use of optimization tools (linear programming, spreadsheet analysis).
• Monitor and analyze asset utilization of Supply Chain Assets.
• Test supply chain design scenarios, process variability and trade-offs through modeling techniques (simulation).
• Manage cross-functional projects and relationships.
• Leverage internal consulting skills, communications and project methodologies.
• Participate on or lead cross-functional team projects.
• Lead Low Cost to Serve (LCTS) SC operation improvement and productivity projects for a geographic region.
• Provide support and expertise in supply chain operations technology (distribution equipment, packaging materials and packaging equipment design).


Critical Success Factors for this position include:

• The critical competencies required for success are Interpersonal Effectiveness, Initiative, Value Creation, and Supply Chain Management.
• Knowledge of both the Technology Implementation for Competitive Advantage (TICA) and Global Project Methodology (GPM) work process
• Technical proficiency in the use of computer applications, and sound analytical skills are necessary.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects.
• Must be self directed and have strong communication skills.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above , prefer Supply Chain Management, Engineering or other Sciences.
• 3-5 years relevant work experience required; prefer experience in Manufacturing or Supply Chain Operations.


Prefer:

• APICS CPIM Certification or strong commitment to attain within 1-2 years.
• Six Sigma project leader certification or Black Belt certified.
