Description:
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Supply Chain Management across the Inova Health System.
• Oversees the day to day supply chain functions across the system which includes purchasing, receiving, storage and distribution. Develops and coordinates the key strategic initiates that ensure a safe and reliable supply chain across the system.
• Responsible for establishing the policies and procedures that govern the Supply Chain to ensure processes are effective, efficient and in compliance with all government and regulatory requirements.
• Oversees the Materials Management information system.
• Ensures that the design of the system and staff knowledge is maximized to produce efficient and effect procurement of supplies, equipment and services.
• Responsible for the full functionality of the system to ensure the accurate accounting of Inova Health System financial expenditures.
• Measures staff and end users compliance with the system.
• Ensure connection and the timely processing purchase orders and receipts, making them available for payment.
• Oversees Supplier Partnership and Contract negotiations.
• Maintains overall vendor readiness strategy for the Supply Chain, in the event of a disaster.
• Ensures that all contracts and capital equipment orders are in keeping with Inova Health System policies and procedures and that the best possible price is obtained.
• Sets and oversees Value Analysis Committee structure and all processes for making supply and equipment decisions.
• Ensures evidence based research is completed for all decisions and the incremental costs and reimbursement is factored into the decision process and understood by Senior Leadership.
• Oversight responsibility for Healthcare Textiles Services.
• Maintains oversight responsibility for the day to day operations of Inova laundry.
• Ensures a culture of safety through continuous process improvement, safety audits and education.
• Ensures that all government and regulatory requirements are in place and an audited process in place.
• Routinely measures and works with the hospitals on linen cost and cost reduction ideas.
• Oversight responsibility for Inova’s Sustainability Program.
• Ensure that there is a sustainability program in place that incorporates all the elements of the Going Green Guide for Healthcare.
• Ensures programmatic approach and measurement of Inova’s waste, water and energy reduction goals.
• Actively works with Inova Design and Construction Department to ensure that current Environmental issues are taken into consideration during building design.
• Actively works with the Hospital Engineering Directors to improve building efficiency during renovations.
• Leadership and Management of Department.
• Creates an annual Supply Chain Budget.
• Ensures job profiles are update and performance standards are in place.
• Sets clear expectations and provides on going coaching and feedback.
• Ensures that employee evaluations are up to date and completed in a timely manner.
• Duties include contracting, purchasing, storeroom, distribution and the Information System and structure to support those activities.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 10 years of health care supply chain management with 5 years of that experience within an IDN.
• A minimum of 5 years experience with contract negotiations and with strong knowledge bases in contract language.
• Experience in finance, audit controls and project management, with ideally an approximate $500M supply chain in a billion dollar organization.
• Demonstrated abilities in contracting and procurement including contract negotiations, competitive bidding, and comparative analysis.
• Strong leadership skills at an executive level.
Education Requirements:
• Master's Degree – degree in Business Administration, Health Services or related field preferred.
