Job Description:
• The position has responsibility for managing the Amines Supply Chain within the Chemical Intermediates business.
• This involves supervising a small team of Supply Chain Planners and closely interacting with many local, regional and global stakeholders to execute the Amines business strategy.
• There is heavy emphasis on global optimization and process optimization as we continually drive toward higher service at lowest cost within our supply chains.
• As a result, the role has a strong emphasis on optimization and improvement projects in addition to many day-to-day operational responsibilities and challenges.
• Therefore the role requires a strong Material Management background along with a results oriented mindset plus the drive and attention to detail to be successful.
• The role has direct supervision over 3 Supply Chain Planners in addition to hands-on Planning responsibilities.
• The incumbent will support his/her product portfolio while supervising and supporting the overall team activity.
• Major duties include: running the Amines S&OP, production planning, global S&OP and fulfillment, import process support, inventory budget and controlling, routine reporting and ad hoc project support.
• The role works closely with other Operational Supply Chain Managers and Planners in addition to Marketing, Sales, Production Sites, Global Supply Chain, IT and various other stakeholders.
• The position has wide exposure within the Intermediates business and global communities and success depends on being able to maintain progress on many concurrent topics with minimal supervision and direction.
• The candidate will need to manage/ balance conflicting priorities from other groups (Production, Marketing & other internal business units, etc) so negotiation and conflict management skills are also key success factors in many situations.
• This is an excellent growth position that will leverage already strong supply chain experience to directly support key business results and the successful candidate will gain good exposure to Sr. level management.
Principle Responsibilities:
• Amines S&OP: running a monthly S&OP process with Marketing, Production, Controlling and Supply Chain to develop consensus plans in support of the business objectives.
• Direct Supervision of 3 Amines Supply Chain Planners: areas include imports, exports, domestic and internal supply including planning and troubleshooting these areas.
• Process Improvement/optimization - Continually identify and implement improvements in all areas of supply chain.
• Example: Perform network and cost optimization activities including cost-to-serve analysis, application of primary shipping points, and procurement of tanks/warehouse allocation.
• Supply Chain / Financial Controlling - yearly inventory budget, monthly forecasting and controlling, business case development for cost to serve analysis, etc.
• Lead or participate on teams as required as business conditions require in a broad scope.
Qualifications:
• A degree in Supply Chain or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience or a related field is required and a master's degree is preferred.
• Certifications by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) are expected. Progression toward CPIM and CSCP are expected in this role.
• A minimum of ten (10) years logistics / supply chain / marketing / production or similar experience is necessary along with proven management experience.
• Excellent leadership and analytical skills combined with superior communication skills required.
• Example: analytical capabilities to be able to assess complex situations and develop sound recommendations for improvement, and communicate proposals and results Leadership to be able to manage the effort and address all issues as necessary.
• A thorough knowledge and prior experience in the following: sales and operations planning, materials requirements planning, inventory control theory and practice, transportation management, tolling, warehousing, packaging, trans loading and distribution network optimization is required.
• A strong working knowledge of SAP SD, and Materials Requirements Planning along with advanced level experience using MS Access/Excel is required.
• Proven experience in managing projects to successful implememntation using a structure approach for planning and measuring progress.
• Prior supervisory experience in a similar role is a strong advantage and preferred.
