Description:
Develop plans, procedures & checklists to insure the operational readiness of mission equipment and personnel.
Duties:
• Plans, designs and directs the deployment , placement ,installation, integration, operation, maintenance and tear down of a large variety of mobile transportable wide band and narrow band radio frequency systems with their associated ancillary equipment ( antennae, remote control computers, adaptive bandwidth, multiplexers, modems & fiber optic transmission systems) and emergency power generation capabilities at deployment locations,
• Deploys, installs, operates, & maintains Accountability for Voice, Data, Video Teleconferencing, Radio Frequency & Satellite Telecommunications Systems in support of FEMA Disaster and Emergency Response missions.
• Initiates & coordinates with FEMA, other government agencies, and non-government personnel in the accountability of mission support FEMA communications assets.
• Performs Logistics Management services necessary to ensure Accountability & systems readiness of mission support equipment & facilities providing essential services integral to the FEMA MERS mission.
• Provides technical input regarding Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Spare Parts Stocking Levels and cost effective reorder strategies to ensure overall mission effectiveness is maintained.
• Evaluates Logistics System performance against mission requirements and recommends equipment acquisitions, modifications and configuration changes.
• Prepares, reviews, refines, coordinates & translates requirements into language that can be used in the contracting and acquisition process.
Knowledge /Skill Required:
• Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 or GS-11 Grade Level in the Federal Service.
• Specialized experience is that experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills & abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
• Specialized experience is further defined as experience applying the concepts, principles, procedures and techniques required to Logistically support the installation, integration, operation and the sustained operations of the MERS voice, data and video telecommunications systems capabilities.
• Experience & Certification in Hazmat operations is highly desirable.
• A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or the ability to attain a CDL is highly desirable.
• Applicants must possess an active Top Secret Clearance or be eligible to attain a Top Secret Clearance.
