Description:
• Owns the day-to-day execution of procurement activities in ingredients and commodities spend categories to support the business activities of the Nestle Nutrition HealthCare and Infant formula groups.
• Ensures supply for all materials for the business and supports the identification and implementation of raw material projects in concert with internal customers.
• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal business partners and key suppliers for categories.
• Tracks and manages vendor quality, compliance and financial risk.
• Works with Strategic Procurement Managers to identify and implement cost savings projects in collaboration with internal customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage Business Partner Satisfaction.
• Build close relationships with business management and sourcing teams.
• Develop good relationship with suppliers.
• Be the key conduit between the business and NBS sourcing teams and the objective advocate for both.
• Streamline processes, explore new procedures.
• Ensure Quality Supply.
• Working with Central Audit and Quality Management to ensure all suppliers are in compliance with supplier approval protocol.
• Work with Credit to monitor financial risk of suppliers and work with business stakeholders and Strategic Procurement Managers to manage risk as appropriate.
• This may include driving secondary sourcing projects.
• Maintain close relationships with the HeathCare business management team to stay current on events affecting product demand and to share product trending information; run periodic analysis reports and work with planning group to assist in determining the continued accuracy of forecasts.
• Execute the implementation plan for ingredient and commodities.
• Work with Strategic Procurement Managers on sourcing strategy.
• Drive cost reduction efforts working collaboratively with the business stakeholders (PD, QM, Operations).
• Reconcile potential strategic sourcing outcomes and action plans with business partners prior to executing the sourcing initiative, to eliminate executional barriers.
• Identify activities, timeline, ownership and drive accountability within NBS and the business; assess and mitigate potential implementation risks.
• Maintain SAP and JD Edwards contracts where applicable.
• Monitor vendor performance management.
• Monitor and drive compliance regarding supplier performance as measured by Vendor non-Compliance report.
• Address and resolve vendor issues.
• Escalate vendor issues to Group Managers and Strategic Buyers, as appropriate.
Requirements & Minimum Education Level:
• 20-25% Travel.
• 4-yr BA/BS degree.
Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years in purchasing, material management, supply chain, procurement operations, ingredients, commodities, or manufacturing QA/product development experience.
• Demonstrated materials management/operational buying capability.
• Candidate must be a demonstrated quick study, proven ability to manage change, ability to work across boundaries and borders, strong decision making.
• Excellent communicator and demonstrated skills in collaboration.
• Proven ability to gather business material and service requirements and translate into demand plans.
• CPM certification a plus.
