Description:
• Primarily an analyst and relationship manager, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist is a key member of the General Goods & Services Strategic Sourcing Category Team with a focus on indirect spend strategic sourcing categories including facilities management, construction services, HR, IT hardware, software and services and consulting services.
• Responsibilities include relationship management, project management and execution, negotiation, presentations, and process optimization.
• The ideal candidate will have demonstrated high performance in the following 5 key competencies: initiative, planning & organization, communication, relationship building, and influencing others.
• Technical and in-depth knowledge of production (feature and television) process and related supplier industries.
Responsibilities:
• Conducts analysis of market conditions to proactively manage changes in the market place & develop project plans to address such issues.
• Obtains relevant information for developing new commodity strategies, considering the entire supply chain, information and economic considerations.
• Compiles and synthesizes both business requirements and external market conditions to develop optimal commodity strategy with full understanding of potential shortfalls and risk mitigation plans.
• Develops and compiles required Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP) to facilitate development of sourcing strategy.
• Develops commodity strategy recommendations in a concise and persuasive fashion and leads implementation of sourcing strategy (sole source or short-list negotiations, leverage added scope, competitive bidding, eSourcing tools, catalogs, reverse auctions, etc.).
• Partner with Supplier Diversity efforts to creatively include MWBE in supplier selection process and creatively grow existing MWBE spend.
• Contributes to environmental friendly purchase efforts to support WB's Environmental Purchase Guidelines.
• Conducts comprehensive supplier analysis (strategic direction, financial health/risk due diligence, market position, power within industry, capabilities & capacity, risk assessment).
• Monitors supplier relationship programs that cut across multiple business divisions to ensure service levels are being met.
• Identifies key performance indicators (perfect order, growth drivers, production constraints, investment strategies) to drive business value for both parties and to seek out and find emerging business improvement opportunities.
• Applies various types of financial analysis to address Strategic Sourcing challenges.
• Conceives and develops complex analytical & pricing models.
• Leverages Business Warehouse Global Procurement Solution (BWGPS) during opportunity assessment to determine baseline spend and associated costs.
• Can develop detailed analysis of financial statements and business unit cost structures.
• Has the necessary business acumen to be thoroughly conversant in the intent and rationale behind contract provisions from a business as well as legal perspective, and acts as a liaison between the contracting parties, WB Legal, and management.
• Recognizes differences in requirements and strategies across business units and coaches others to use that understanding to optimize TW/ WB protection/advantages.
• Develops and implements simplified processes which facilitate timely, effective contracts (makes it easy to do the right thing).
• Prepares written reports and presentations on contract administration activities for management within WBPG.
• Leverages skills to identify refinements and improvements to Sourcing & Procurement related systems functionality and applications.
• Demonstrates intimate knowledge of various Sourcing & Procurement related technologies and can articulate how those technologies can improve the way we source and procure.
• Identifies new high volume low dollar transaction opportunities that can more effectively be reconciled and paid through PCard.
• Identifies opportunities where project management expertise needs to be implemented and works to ensure that those involved in key projects are managing them optimally.
• Demonstrates consistent success in meeting or exceeding goals, timelines, and expectations for multiple projects that may be occurring simultaneously.
• Demonstrates ability to deliver professional and effective communications, verbally or in writing through presentations that are persuasive, and result in positive impact on the business.
• Promotes and maintains the professional communication standards of WBPG to those outside of the organization.
• Partners with management across franchises and regions to expand the role/presence of WBPG.
Requirements:
• Required: Bachelor’s degree in: Engineering, Business Administration (Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, Economics, Other), or Computer Science/IT/MIS.
• Preferred: Consulting experience, MBA, CPM.
• Preferred: studio and production industry background with technical knowledge for commodity areas.
• 5+ years work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, or Operations with a focus on the indirect spend categories listed above.
• ERP Systems; SAP, eProcurement Systems: Emptoris or other.
• Software: Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Proficiency in developing complex RFPs and conducting complex bid analysis.
• Application of Strategic Sourcing best practices.
• Cross-Function & Cross-Divisional collaboration & understanding is essential.
