Description:
• The A,D&M facility at Rt 230 Mount Joy, PA, is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead its purchasing team.
• The Purchasing Manager works with the AD&M Director of Procurement and other AD&M staff to develop, implement and communicate the required strategies to achieve desired results.
• Primary goals are to provide internal customers with timely and professional procurement support by implementing sourcing strategies, developing a reliable quality oriented supply base and driving cost improvement initiatives.
• This position reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing, but also has responsibilities to AD&M Director of Procurement.
• The manager will negotiate with the supply base for the purchase of all direct materials, and supplies required to support this AD&M facility.
• Ensuring continuity of supply, supervising and developing our internal staff and proactively developing suppliers are among our top priorities.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Essential Responsibilities:
• Ensuring continuity of supply by addressing quality, delivery and other commercial issues which impact customer service.
• Developing, implementing and monitoring procurement strategies in support of overall business objectives.
• Establishing interfaces within business to provide support & includes input from engineering, product development, quality, product management, manufacturing & suppliers.
• Leading a team of sourcing professionals in the selection and maintenance of the supply base required in the connector business.
• Achieving department financial, operational and quality results.
• Developing cross-functional cost reduction programs to support business objectives.
• Driving and developing strategic supplier selection to ensure best-in-class supply-chain including supply base rationalization, inventory management and sourcing strategies.
• Leading, developing and maintaining a highly capable team of purchasing professionals.
• Actively driving standard processes to achieve desired supplier performance (quality, delivery, productivity, lead time, etc.).
• Working with Product Management, Demand Management and Materials Management to identify and implement appropriate supplier inventory strategies and agreements.
• Deploying SAP Scheduling Agreements to reduce inventory and lead times while improving customer service metrics.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years minimum purchasing/procurement experience OR.
• Master's degree and 5 year minimum work experience in the purchasing/procurement function.
• Certification: I.S.M./A.P.I.C.S. a plus.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage & motivate others.
• Demonstrated ability to formulate, communicate & implement short & long-term strategies for commodities, components & service desired.
• Experience in creating, leading & driving teams.
• Experience in effectively managing both internal & external relationship with cross-functional groups & suppliers, desired.
Strong computer skills:
• MS Word.
• MS Excel.
• MS Outlook.
• MS PowerPoint.
• SAP/POLIS, etc.
• Star Tec/Matrix or other Engineering Change Systems.
• Cognos Impromptu, Cognos IWR Reports, Cognos Power Play Cubes.
• U.S. National status required.
