Description:

• Support / Lead sourcing projects within any given global market place.
• To understand the manufacturing cost drivers of a commodity and implement cost reduction processes.
• To develop a cohesive and logical supply chain strategy for the commodity covering aspects such as number of suppliers, potential location of suppliers global or local, key selection criteria and appropriate relationships.
• Obtain business buy-in to supplier selection process.
• To drive significant total landed cost savings for commodity.
• To understand and manage the risks of any supply chain changes.
• To ensure suppliers understand expected performance levels and competencies, have a mutually agreed gap analysis and supplier development plan in place.
• Embrace and promotes the company vision and mission.


Key Measures of Performance:

• Supplier QDC (Quality, Delivery, and Cost) performance.
• Supplier 3P&L (Price, Package Size, Payment Terms, and Lead-Time) performance.
• Material cost of goods sold savings.


Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in applicable field (Engineering, Procurement, Business) or equivalent experience.
• Five years of Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and/or Procurement experience within manufacturing.
• Preference for Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) certification and /or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification, desired but not essential.
• Possesses an understanding of purchasing “best practice” including but lot limited to – Supplier PULL systems, VMI, Supplier assessment and Vendor rating including supplier performance reviews.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques required.
• Familiar with Industry and MIL specifications.
• Understanding of Calibration and General Inspection methods.
• Have advanced computer skills including - Microsoft: PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Word. SAP, MAPICS, etc. a plus!
• Analytical ability to support decision making process.
• Ability to facilitate and effectively hold meetings and training sessions as required.
• Travel as required – Not exceeding 35%.
