Supply Chain - Buyer/Procurement, aerospace

Description:

• Responsible for the sourcing and acquisition of commercial aircraft components and services from a variety of manufacturers-domestic and international.
• Will interface with all levels of internal/external customers and suppliers.
• Will demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of aerospace RFQ, bid analysis, cost, schedule, contracting practices, procedures and systems.
• Will negotiate pricing and other business terms.
• Lead or co-lead events to improve process flow for reduction of costs, as needed.
• Act as a focal point in various sourcing efforts/projects with minimal supervision.
• Ability to have limited to no interruption to current flow of parts in an active production program.
• Provide in-depth material management expertise to achieve world-class performance levels within Supply Chain.
• Will participate in Kaizen events as an experienced member and be able to act as a Lean Team Leader.
• Effectively incorporate learning from completed projects into future efforts to ensure success; will adapt methods to suit different situations.


Supplier Management:

• Will develop long-term relationships with key suppliers.
• Will have strong knowledge of contract negotiations and contract management, and negotiate effectively under minimal supervision.
• Bachelors degree in Business related discipline and a minimum of 5 years related experience in Procurement/Purchasing/Sourcing.
• OR, Masters and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of degree, 8 years of relevant experience will be accepted.


Required Skills:

• SAP (or similar ERP) procurement experience.
• Strong writing skills, and the ability to develop procurement packages and financial justifications.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Procurement experience, strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite products (especially Excel).
• Comprehensive knowledge of cost, schedule and quality.
• Overall knowledge of common aerospace manufacturing technologies.
• Professionalism, job ownership, commitment, teamwork and ethical behavior.


Preferred skills:

• Lean Manufacturing experience.
• US Citizenship or permanent resident.
