Description:
• The Dow Chemical Company's North American (NAA) Supply Chain Team has an opportunity for a Demand Planner in the Plastics Additives business.
• This position can be located out of either the Philadelphia, PA; Cincinnatti, OH; or Louisville, OH locations or it can be virtual office.
Critical Responsibilities include:
• Member of the North American Supply Chain Team responsible for coordinating and managing the forecasting and demand planning processes for the Plastics Additives NAA business.
• This position will serve as the key link between sales and marketing and the supply chain organization.
• Coordinate and manage demand/supply planning and inventory management for Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) (imported) products in North America.
• Resolve queries related to demand and DRP products.
• Manage and participate in product line management and SKU rationalization efforts for NAA.
• Demand identification, planning, and forecasting for materials produced in NAA.
– Track and forecast demand in conjunction with commercial team.
– Utilize Advanced Planning Optimization (APO) to generate demand forecasts and enter exceptions into system.
– Responsible for developing, modeling (thru APO), and analyzing forecasts.
– Maintain and enhance APO systems data for Demand Forecasting Units (DFU's).
– Provide input to supply chain leaders regarding demand drivers.
• Interact closely with account managers/market manager to drive forecast accuracy.
• Collect demand feedback from the commercial organization and update APO with proper communication to the Supply Chain Group.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales forecasts on a micro ( SKU based) level and macro (product family and market segment) level for Plastics Additives.
• Monitor and conduct bias analysis on forecast accuracy.
• Lead monthly NAA Demand pre-Supply & Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting and attend monthly global pre-S&OP meeting.
• DRP Planner.
– Utilize APO to Plan distribution replenishments for imported material to NAA.
– Generate Stock Transfer Orders (STO's) and monitor shipping progress.
– Communicate supply disruptions to commercial team and customer service rep's.
• Manage product line classifications and lead SKU rationalization efforts.
• Work closely with the marketing team to determine promoted verses non-promoted products.
• Generate analysis for decisions relating to product discontinuations.
• Network with demand planners in all regions to coordinate inter-regional demand changes.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related technical discipline.
• Prefer 4+ years experience in manufacturing, supply chain or customer service functions.
• APICS CPIM, Executive Education or like certification is an advantage.
• Prefer Six Sigma certification.
• Requires up to 10% travel for meetings and customer visits within the US.
