Jr. Buyer - POS/Spare Parts

Description:

• The position will support point of sale for spare parts and discontinued items.
• Work hours will be 10a-7p w/ an hour lunch, Mon-Fri.
• Previous purchasing experience involving vendor contact and price checking is required.
• The position of Buyer is responsible for the procurement and process application as it supports the Supply Chain Management stocking strategy.
• This will include working operational issues with suppliers, providing strong client service and maintaining data accuracy within the database.
• The Buyer will be empowered to resolve issues as they relate to their assigned responsibilities.
• Teamwork with internal and external departments is necessary to ensure achievement of overall team goals.

Process Application:

• Implement agreed purchasing plan for area of responsibility.
• Control procurement spend to meet business requirements.


Gathers Business Intelligence:

• Work with Senior Buyer to determine product life cycles.
• Understand technology road map & align to supplier network.
• Agree with Senior Buyer risk of & impact from changes to new products.


Su Supplier / Material Management:

• Expedite deliveries.
• Negotiate with suppliers as needed – lead times, freight, cost.
• Follow up and close open issues with suppliers.
• Manage backlog report from suppliers.


Pu Purchasing Operations:

• Management of data integrity across area of responsibility & reporting system / data integrity issues.
• Create / cancel PO’s aligned to stocking strategy, MRP approach & automation intent – maintain costs.
• Proactive approach to / shipment errors / reconciliation (AP) / write-downs.
• Assist price protection when needed.
• Product Allocation notifications.
• Program Support – warranties, special pricing, software licensing.
• Work with various departments including Project Management / Warranty / Sales.
• Fulfill MDS requests.
• Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

• College degree preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
