• The primary purpose of the Solutions Advisor role will be to drive and support the adoption of BP’s Ariba system across the R&M PSCM Business teams in the Eastern Hemisphere.
• In addition this role will also work closely with the Business teams to develop and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the system workflows, templates, reporting etc. as the adoption and maturity of usage grows over time.
• The Solutions Advisor will play a critical role in supporting the adoption of the BP PSCM Common Processes for Sourcing, Contracting & Supplier Management which are configured in Ariba.
• Activities will cover initial deployment assessment and planning, design/configuration reviews, developing and executing training & coaching programmes, hands-on event management support, (as required), managing third parties to provide support for specific Business projects and requirements, system maintenance etc.
• This role will provide solutions expertise, advice and support to both the Category/Market Sector teams and Site/Country based Business teams as well as working closely with the PSCM Advisors on the Shared Services Team who own the process designs and provide training and coaching.
• Regular interface will also be required with the Shared Services team based in Warrenville, IL and with the Central Ariba Administration Team based in Houston, TX.
• The role will require extensive networking and influencing abilities to develop credibility with key users and stakeholders regarding Sourcing, Contracting and Supplier Management and to drive the uptake of the Ariba system and processes to achieve optimal business results.
• Strong programme management skills are critical as well as an inherent ability to manage a variety of complex projects and customer interfaces at any time.
• This role will be accountable for all Engagement Management activities for his capability area, liaises with key client interface on a regular basis to discuss current project portfolio for capability area, provides QA and challenge to project team’s work, Anticipates and quickly resolves issues, leads key user group meetings, engages with Customer Relationship Manager regularly to provide updates on Service Requests that may have been passed on directly to him.

Key Accountabilities:

• Work with key stakeholders in the R&M Businesses to understand requirements, plan and deliver and support the increased adoption of eSourcing, Supplier Management and Contract Management in the Ariba tool.
• Assist the PSCM Shared Services Advisors to embed the Common Strategic Sourcing Processes through the application of the Ariba modules, workflows, tools and templates.
• Drive and support existing eSourcing & eAuction programmes and projects (as required) across the Businesses including programme planning and management, eSourcing & eAuction opportunity assessments, project pipeline building, supporting projects and events (RFI, RFP & Auctions), providing training & coaching support etc.
• Support the deployment of Ariba Supplier Management across the Businesses as required – programme planning and management, coordinating demonstrations and pilots, training and coaching, supporting KPI, Survey set up and reporting etc.
• Support the deployment of Ariba Contracts Administration across the Businesses as required - programme planning and management, coordinating demonstrations and pilots, design reviews, training and coaching, supporting Contract Management activities etc.
• Supporting the Eastern hemisphere Strategic Support Manager in managing and optimizing the overall Ariba Support Model of BP Staff and Third Party Contractors to meet current and future Business demands.
• Driving Continuous Improvement of the Ariba tool in service of making it easier and more effective to use and ultimately to deliver more value to BP.
• Liaise with the Ariba Central Administration Team to manage Ariba Releases, Issues and Business Driven Change Requests.
• Supporting R&M or BP Group initiatives on PSCM systems development, deployment and integration.

Essential Education:

• B.A. or B.S. required in either IT, Finance, Business, or Engineering.

Essential experience and job requirements:

• A minimum of 5-10 years experience in a strategic sourcing / procurement, supplier management and contracting environment.
• A minimum of 5-10 years practical/consulting experience of eSourcing/eAuctions, system enabled Supplier Performance Management and Contracts Administration.
• Hands on experience of :
– Using eSourcing tools - managing complex eSourcing projects, planning and managing complex eAuctions o using Supplier Management tools.
– Setting up and managing KPI’s, scorecards and surveys etc. o using Contract management tools.
– Templates/clause vaults, collaboration, repositories, notifications, reporting etc.

• Programme Management experience of systems automation of Procurement processes in a large, multi-national organisation.
• A track record of process design and effective systems automation.

Other essential skills and knowledge:

• Strong people management skills including leadership, motivation & coaching.
• Excellent communicator with an articulate, personable, professional and persuasive presentation style.
• Ability to manage a complex portfolio of inter-dependent projects that are geographically dispersed and cut across organisational cultures.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills - ability to think laterally.

Desirable criteria & qualifications:

• Oil/Petrochemical, process manufacturing, engineering or retail experience.
• Delivery of classroom or hands on training and coaching.
• Familiar with the procurement processes – Market Sector Strategy, Sourcing, Contracting, Supplier Performance Management and Purchase to Pay.
• Ariba 10s2 Sourcing Pro, Supplier Management & Contract Administration modules.
• Strong communications and engagement skills.
• Project Management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools.
